Church Pews
Our Journey

On January 31, 2008, founding and organizing Pastor, DeChard I.H.M. Freeman held a visionary church launch team meeting at the Blackhawk Amenity Center and met for seven months to organize the initial launch of ALC. Immediately, ALC began reaching lost souls through the LIFE-line experiences that began three months later on April 14, 2008 at Pflugerville Community Church where Steve Clem is the Pastor. The ALC LIFE-line experiences introduced the world to a Real Welcome, a Riveting Worship and a Relevant Word. At the conclusion of the LIFE-line experiences ALC hosted its first Annual LIFE Pfest on August 20, 2008. This Community event was a day of pfood, pfamily and pfun for all ages. September 7, 2008 kicked off an exciting and breathtaking first year of Church LIFE with our first Worship Experience at the First Baptist Church of Pflugerville, where Steve Washburn is the Pastor. From its first Worship Experience to present, ALC has been faithful in helping lost souls develop an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the next four months, ALC continued to grow at a rapid and unpredictable pace, surpassing many statistical projections for new and young churches.  On November 2, 2008, ALC officially installed DeChard I.H.M. Freeman as the Pastor of the Abundant LIFE Community Baptist Church.  On this same day, ALC held its first baptismal ceremony. ALC also began to develop and implement its Christian Education Ministry by beginning LIFE Bible Study on November 5, 2008 and The LOGOS Hour (Sunday school) on January 11, 2009.  In less than six months, ALC outgrew its initial worship location and had to seek a larger facility to comfortably house its 150 plus members and ministry needs. On March 15, 2009 ALC had its first worship experience in its new temporary "apartment" location. On this same day, ALC held its first Ordination.  Five Deacons and one Staff Pastor were ordained. On June 27, 2009, ALC hosted a Community Commitment Health Fair that provided the community with extensive health information in an effort to live healthier LIFEstyles.

We are grateful to God for equipping ALC with those who believe in serving sacrificially. ALC has begun establishing a legacy of leadership through its founding Pastor, DeChard Freeman, Assistant Pastors, Nathan Debord, David Franklin, James Mosley and Deacons, Clifton Burse III, Daniel Greene, Michael Hargrove, Aubrey Holmes, and Marvin Wilson. On November 30, 2009, ALC added three new preachers into the gospel preaching ministry; Jay Wallace, Raphael Evans and Nicholas Hunt. One year later, ALC's family had grown to approximately 250 members. On June 16, 2010, ALC held its second ordination adding five deacons, Joshua Colvin, Cory Davis, John Gage, Steven Gradney and Leron White.

In May of 2011, God blessed ALC with her new apartment, located at 2113 Wells Branch Parkway, Suite 4000 in Austin, Texas. ALC prepared to relocate its nearly 350 members from its "apartment" (temporary location) to her new worship campus On May 1, 2011, the ALC church family had its first worship experience at their new location. This worship experience was filled with praise and worship as the facility was declared “holy ground” during a consecration ceremony.

At this new location, the ALC family continued to grow to over 400 members. On June 3, 2012, ALC held its third ordination adding six more deacons, Booker LaBouve, Freddie Brown, Sidney Collins III, Oscar Mitchell, John Pleasant and Jeff Travillion. During this ordination, we also ordained Jay Wallace as Youth Pastor.

During 2011 and 2012, our S.A.V.E. Ministry launched a live streaming of our worship experiences. Our Music Ministry completed a live recording. And our YUNG Ministry hosted its first LIFE Kidz Summer Camp.

On March 5, 2017, ALC began worshipping in our new church complex at 1006 Old Austin-Hutto Road in Pflugerville.  The complex currently includes two building, including a sanctuary and a building for youth programs.

We are excited and anticipate God’s continuous favor over the Abundant LIFE Church.  The Vision of Abundant LIFE Community Baptist Church is to commit wholeheartedly to the commission and cause of Jesus our Christ. We envision a church that expresses the love, compassion and joy of Jesus through sharing the gospel, edifying believers, sacrificial worship, loving our family and community and reaching out to pre-Christians. We commit to pursuing this vision until the LORD Himself comes to receive us. Until then, we invest fully in this ministry where Better LIFE in Christ begins and we’re livin’ It Up!
