Pastor FREE talking about the Vision

BETTA COMMUNITY,   BETTA PEOPLE,   BETTA LIFE……

WHAT WE DO…

Since its inception 8 years ago, Abundant Life Community Baptist Church (ALC) has taken in more than 500+ members, received just over 100 candidates for baptism, developed stronger marital and family structures, adopted an apartment complex and convalescent home, housed a Narcotics Anonymous group, implemented children and youth programs (that include our LIFE Kidz Summer Camp), fed the homeless, given to battered women, assisted disaster victims locally, in other parts of America, and internationally.
Below is a brief overview of our major community initiatives:

LIFE-KIDZ
We provide weekly homework help, tutoring and mentoring for youth ages 6 to 18 years old. We also host an annual camp from June to August.  The camp is an activity rich environment that features Bible Study, field trips, physical fitness and education. In addition, on a yearly basis we honor our graduates, from elementary school to grad school.

LIFE LINE
We provide survival services and assistance to the homeless and those that are in transition due to unplanned life event. We provide free meals, clothing and blankets to those in need. We also partner with other organizations to help community members find housing assistance and other critical services.  Through our benevolence fund, ALC has helped dozens in the community avoid eviction, prevent electricity shut-offs, and feed families and individuals who are homeless.

LIFE - Health and Wellness
We understand that living abundantly requires wellness spiritually, physically and mentally. We strive to empower our immediate community to make positive healthy lifestyle choices by providing accessible wellness education and programming. We believe that true wellness is a combination of physical, intellectual and spiritual development.  We partner with local organizations to host classes and informational meetings on the following topics; diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, HIV-AIDS and diet and nutrition. We also participate in health awareness walks/runs and seminars.

WHO WE ARE
We strive to be a beacon of hope and relevant ministry to those who are broken, confused, in need, and lost.  Our mission is to provide a welcoming, supportive, informal, judgment free, and invigorating family atmosphere for our community. We want to impact our community through education and training, health-wellness, enriching the lives of our youth; and providing survival programs that address poverty and homelessness.

WHAT WE NEED…….

In order to purchase our permanent location at 1006 Old Austin Hutto Road, Pflugerville, Texas, and to continue to offer the community programs that help the homeless, helpless, and children, ALC started the Betta LIFE Building Fund Campaign in December 2014.  Since that time we have raised over $150,000 through pledges and fundraisers.  Fundraising events included the release of the movie Loveless, which was written, produced, and starred in by Pastor FREE.  Pastor FREE also wrote the soundtrack CD for the movie.  The cast of Loveless toured Texas for special viewings of the movie.  Despite our fundraising efforts, we need an additional $35,000 by February 20, 2017.

Since we started our ministry over 8 years ago, community needs have grown significantly. So many more families and individuals are at-risk for homelessness, chronic illness, and food insecurity. Community youth need a safe place to come to play and learn.

In order to better serve our immediate community we need classrooms to tutor and teach youth, additional space for a fully stocked food pantry, a large kitchen to serve free meals and a place for temporary shelter for the homeless.

Your heartfelt gift of any amount would bless us and help us get closer to our overall goal.
